Back To School: Meriden 2026-27 School Calendar

MERIDEN, CT — Summer is starting to wind down as the first day of school in Meriden is quickly approaching.

Students will return to the classroom in Meriden Public Schools on Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change.

Here's a list of dates to know for this school year, according to the 2026-2027 district calendar:

• First day: Aug. 26
• Labor Day, no school: Sept. 7
• Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 12
• Election Day, no school: Nov. 3
• Veterans Day, no school: Nov. 11
• Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 26-27
• Holiday Recess, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 1
• Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 18
• Presidents' Day / Winter Vacation, no school: Feb. 15-16
• Good Friday, no school: March 26
• Spring Break, no school: April 12-16
• Memorial Day, no school: May 31
• Projected Last Student Day: June 8
• Juneteenth, district will be closed: June 18 (observed)

Note: Snow make-up days will be scheduled at the end of the school year in June. If all snow days cannot be made up in June, the additional days will be subtracted from the Spring Vacation, starting at the end of that week. High school graduation dates will be determined at the second Board meeting in April. Teachers' last workday is the same as students' last school day.
