John Ratzenberger, Beloved Pixar Voice Character and Acclaimed Star of Cheers, in Meriden

Meriden, October 1, 2012—Beloved character actor John Ratzenberger a Connecticut resident, known to millions of Americans young and old for his voice character roles in Pixar’s animated films, his famous role in the sitcom Cheers, and his hosting of the groundbreaking program Made in America, was in Meriden with State Senator Len Suzio on Saturday at  Four Points by Sheraton to visit with residents of the 13th Senate District – hailing from Cheshire, Meriden, Middlefield, Middletown and Rockfall —he spoke about the need for voters to have a deeper concern for the state of American Exceptionalism, and to bring attention to the need to train young Americans and returning veterans for the many skilled-labor and manufacturing jobs that are going unfilled, even in this current economy.

John posed for photographs and signed flyers. He entertained the children by addressing them as the characters he has give voice to in many animated films.

“John Ratzenberger is more than a great entertainer—he is a crusader for preserving American jobs, determined to keep high-tech firms here and to train the workers needed for these good jobs. He delivered a serious message to the over 150 that came to meet him: we must keep good manufacturing jobs here in America, and train the young people needed to fill them”, Suzio said.
