The incident occurred Tuesday night.

MERIDEN, CT — Two members of a Foster Street family were beaten in their home by a trio of armed home invaders Tuesday night, according to Meriden police.

Officers were called to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m. "Upon arrival the suspects had already fled the scene," wrote Meriden Police Sgt. Darrin McKay in a statement. "Despite a language barrier we were eventually able to learn that there were three suspects responsible."

The family had just returned home when the three suspects forcibly entered the residence, according to McKay.
