ATF Will Leave Matter of Unaccounted Meriden PD Guns to Department
Two weapons were unaccounted for after an inventory audit
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives will leave the matter of unaccounted Meriden Police weapons to local authorities.An AR-15 rifle and shotgun were unaccounted for after an inventory audit, according to the Record-Journal.
Police said it’s likely the guns were stripped for parts, the AR-15 rifle is about 15-years-old.
It’s unclear who used the shotgun last and the AR-15 was unaccounted for after the officer who was assigned to it retired 10 years ago.
