Attorney Says Child Abuse Allegations False

A defense attorney for a South Windsor day care facility said allegations of child abuse are trumped up charges.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT - A defense attorney for Mother Goose Child Care Center told Fox 61 that the child abuse allegations against his client are false. Four women who worked at the day care facility were arrested Monday.

According to a police statement, one woman was "rough and aggressive" with children in her care on three occasions. The facility's managers allegedly failed to report the abuse to the state, as is required by mandatory reporting laws.

However, attorney Steven Seligman said that the person who called the police with the initial complaint had "an ulterior motive." He added that the case is being "blown out of proportion" and represents a "grotesque overreaction by the state."
