Bank Robbed Inside Stop & Shop In Meriden: Police

Police are asking for help with identifying the man accused of robbing the People's Bank inside Stop & Shop. A reward is also being offered.

MERIDEN, CT — Police are asking for help with identifying a man accused of robbing the People’s Bank inside the Stop & Shop in Meriden last week.

The robbery happened on Sept. 16 at the People’s Bank inside the Stop & Shop at 485 Broad Street in Meriden, according to police.

The robber is described by police as a black man around 50 to 55 years old, weighing 200 to 220 pounds, who was wearing a black baseball cap, white surgical mask, a yellowish long sleeve shirt with reflective stripes (such as those worn by people working in the roadway), blue jeans and black boots.

Meriden police are looking to speak with anyone who could provide information about the suspect, or any witnesses who saw the man before, during or after the robbery was committed.

The Connecticut Bankers Reward Association is offering a $500 reward to anyone who could provide information that leads to the arrest of the bank robber.
