Help us spread the word!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Meriden, CT, February 13, 2018 -- Boy Scout Troop 43, chartered by St. John Lutheran Church, Meriden, CT, will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2018. Special events to mark this occasion, including a 50th Anniversary GALA to be held at il Monticello Banquet Facility later this year, are being planned. Alumni, families, friends, volunteers and supporters of the Troop are being sought to reunite for an evening of fun, food and fellowship in honor of the Troop’s wonderful legacy and all those who have contributed to the making of that legacy.

For five decades, Troop 43 has upheld the ideals of scouting, which are centered around building character, developing strong leadership abilities, and achieving personal accomplishment and growth. The goal of the Troop is to provide each Scout with a safe and compassionate setting in which to explore, try out new ideas, make new friends, and embark on adventures. Scouting promotes a family-oriented atmosphere, one in which lasting friendships and memories are formed, skills that can be utilized throughout a lifetime are learned, and values and ideals that build confidence and strength are fortified. Community service and a commitment to excellence in outdoor programming have been focal aspects of Troop’s 43’s pursuits since its inception. “We are quite proud of our record, and pleased to say that, today, Troop 43 remains as much of a strong influence among today’s youth as it did fifty years ago.”

Troop 43 meets Thursday nights at 7:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church on Paddock Avenue in Meriden on regularly scheduled school days. It welcomes boys ages 10 1/2 (and finishing 5th grade) through age 18 and their families to visit.
