Boy's Bike Is Stolen, Community Rallies to His Aid

Several residents chipped in to buy a new bike.

MERIDEN, CT — After Ethan Lockhart's bike was stolen recently, his mom, Sherry Lockhart, posted about it on Facebook. And in a testament to the power of the internet, not to mention the kindness of strangers, several readers have pitched in to buy the young Meriden resident a new bike, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

Led by resident Paul Testa, a replacement bike was purchased recently from Berlin-based Suburban Sports.

A grateful Ethan and his mother thanked the "good people" of the Meriden community for its collective generosity.
