Broken Elevators Draw Ire Of Tenants At Apartments In Meriden: Report
Tenants are complaining that broken elevators frequently leave elderly residents stranded on the top floor for days, according to a report.
MERIDEN, CT — Tenants of a Meriden apartment complex are complaining about what they say is a dangerous situation regarding frequently broken elevators at the building, according to FOX 61.
Tenants told FOX 61 that elevators at the 15-story building, 80 Hanover Apartments, are often out of service, and sometimes for about a week at a time. The situation forces elderly residents to use the stairs, which some say isn’t an option for everyone, according to FOX 61.
FOX 61 reports Mayor Kevin Scarpati said city officials have been in touch with the building’s owners to express their concern with the situation.
