Bullet Hole Found In Window At Maloney High School: Meriden Police

Police are investigating after a bullet hole was recently found in a window at Maloney High School in Meriden.

MERIDEN, CT — Police are investigating after a bullet hole was found in a window at Maloney High School, according to officials.

School staff alerted Maloney School Resource Officer Markhugh Arscott on Monday of damage to an exterior third-floor classroom window, according to Sgt. Michael Boothroyd. The window is on the rear side of the building.

Staff had already made arrangements to replace the damaged glass, according to Boothroyd.

Police began investigating and Arscott found that on Thursday, June 2 school staff discovered what appeared to be a bullet hole in the window while conducting routine window inspections, according to Boothroyd.

“Detectives responded to the scene and recovered a small caliber projectile that was lodged in pipe insulation,” Boothroyd wrote in a news release. “It is unknown when the actual incident took place. There were no recent calls in the area or known camera footage that captured the incident.

“This case will remain open while Officer Arscott and Detectives exhaust all possible leads.”
