About Us

Healthcare

The City of Meriden’s public health and human services team is dedicated to preventing severe illnesses, helping parents and caregivers stay informed, and keeping kids healthy.

If your child is entering Kindergarten in the fall, they are required by the state to have certain vaccines. Through the Connecticut Vaccine Program (CVP), the Department’s public health clinic provides all early childhood and school-required vaccines at no cost to Meriden residents ages 18 and younger, regardless of insurance status. The clinic also provides childhood blood lead screenings, tuberculosis testing, and adult vaccines as well.

At the Department’s Public Health Clinic (165 Miller Street):

• The staff speaks English and Spanish
• There is information available in multiple languages
• All early childhood vaccine appointments are scheduled during the first visit

Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To make an appointment call (203) 630-4234. To learn about the early childhood and school-required vaccines visit https://bit.ly/ChildhoodVaccinesMeriden
