Are you a job seeker looking to create or update your resume? Meet with Librarian Joanna and work one-to-one using the library’s JobNow resource. JobNow provides resume templates, expert resume assistance, live interview coaching, job searching tips, and skill-building tutorials. This session would be appropriate for someone wanting to create their resume from scratch or update their existing resume. Individual 50-minute sessions will occur on Monday, December 7th; choose between a 2:00-2:50pm or 3:30-3:50pm time slot.

Ever been curious about Mah Jongg, the tile-based game of skill, strategy, and luck?
Please join us as instructor Kathy Carle teaches two beginner American Mah Jongg classes: Monday, November 9th and Monday, November 16th, 2026, both at 1pm. Participants *MUST* attend both sessions; if you register for and attend the first session, you will be automatically registered for the second session. In session 1, attendees will learn the tiles, as well as how to read a card and form hands. Then in session 2, participants will play a game. No previous experience is needed. Tile sets, mat, and cards will be provided for use during the lessons.
Seats are limited – Registration Required.

HFFC is honored to welcome Fish Stark, Executive Director of the American Humanist Association and Executive Director of its advocacy arm, the Center for Freethought Equality, to Wilton, Connecticut. Fish will&nbsp;highlight AHA’s successful American Empathy Project and Creator Fund, takeaways from the midterm election, and what to look forward to in AHA’s upcoming strategic plan.&nbsp;HFFC is a chapter of the American Humanist Association. &nbsp; Fish took over the helm of the 85-year-old organization in 2024 and is responsible for bringing a new energy into the humanist movement. Stark is an organizer, educator, social entrepreneur, and lifelong humanist who has spent his career turning big ideas into bold action in service of belonging, flourishing, and social justice for all people. He holds a Master’s in Education from Harvard and a Bachelor’s from Yale University. He serves on several nonprofit boards.&nbsp;And yes, he is also an award-winning comedian!&nbsp; (In the spirit of Jordan Klapper, 2026 Humanist of the Year and Ricky Gervais).&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; The meeting is free and open to all. About the Authors:&nbsp;
Zach Weinersmith is best known as the cartoonist of the comic Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. He also co-wrote the bestselling science books Soonish and A City on Mars with his wife, and worked with the artist Boulet to create a children's retelling of the story of Beowulf called Bea Wolf.&nbsp;
Dr. Kelly Weinersmith is an adjunct faculty member at Rice University, and is currently President of the Helminthological Society of Washington and the American Society of Parasitologists. Her research on animal behavior and parasites has been featured in The Atlantic, National Geographic, BBC World, Science, Nature, and more. Kelly co-wrote the New York Times bestsellers Soonish: Ten Emerging Technologies That'll Improve And/Or Ruin Everything and A City on Mars: Can We Settle Space, Should We Settle Space, and Have We Really Thought This Through?. In 2024, she and her co-author/husband Zach received a Hugo Award and the Royal Society Trivedi Book Prize for A City on Mars.
