Car Occupied By Infant Shot At In Meriden, Woman Charged: PD
A woman was charged after she fired a gun at a car that was occupied by an infant and three adults, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden woman was charged after she fired a gun at a vehicle that was occupied by an infant and multiple adults, according to police.
Shanice Perez, 23, ran after a person on West Main Street near the intersection of North First Street Aug. 2 around 3:15 p.m. The victim entered a vehicle and Perez fired a round from a handgun at the vehicle as it drove away, police said. The victim is protected by a full no-contact protective order against Perez.
There were three adults and an infant inside the vehicle. Perez ran away from the scene, but was apprehended by police near her residence, according to police.

Officers located three 9 mm bullets and firearm holster at Perez's residence, but no gun was recovered, police said.
Perez is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.

"It is believed that Perez hid the firearm or passed if off to somebody in the area," police spokesman Lt. Darrin McKay said. "The recovery of this firearm is critically important to public safety."
Perez was charged with violation of a protective order, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition, breach of peace, criminal attempt of first-degree assault, risk of injury to a minor, criminal use of a firearm and three counts of first-degree reckless endangerment. She was held in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
