Charges For CT Father Who Left 3-Month-Old Child Alone In Water-Filled Bathtub: Report

The child nearly drowned in the January 16 incident, but reportedly was saved by the mother who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

PLAINVILLE, CT — A 32-year-old Plainville man - and father - was arrested on a warrant this week on charges of first-degree reckless endangerment and risk of injury to a minor after he allegedly left his three month old baby alone in a bathtub full of water, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

The child nearly drowned in the January 16 incident, but was saved by the mother who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Emergency personnel also were called to the scene.

Howard Therriault allegedly placed the child in a chair in the tub while it was filling with water, and he told police he left for a few minutes to get towels, according to the publication. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is due in Bristol Superior Court on Feb. 21.
