Company Relocates Division To Renovated Meriden Facility

The company celebrated the relocation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week.

MERIDEN, CT — 3M’s Health Information Systems Division celebrated its relocation to a renovated facility in Meriden with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week. The division has joined 3M’s Separation Purification Sciences Division (SPSD) under one roof in Meriden. The HIS team relocated from its previous facility in Wallingford. The move allows 3M to create efficiencies that will help strengthen growth for the company and further contribute to local business growth for the surrounding region, according to a press release.

Renovations at the facility led to significant investments in infrastructure and IT upgrades that now help support the surrounding community, including manufacturing and information technology business owners, officials said. The Meriden facility at 400 Research Parkway is approximately 190,000 square feet and will feature a fitness center, revamped cafeteria and collaborative workspaces.

“Improvements such as the fitness center, cafeteria upgrade and information technology enhancements to the Meriden site will reenergize the current SPSD facility employees, along with the incoming HIS division,” Yolla Levitt, Vice President, SPSD, said in a press release. “3M’s investment in the facility is part of the long-term growth strategy for both divisions and their employees.”

One portion of the facility is now dedicated to SPSD, a global leader in providing filtration, separation and purification solutions for the biopharmaceuticals, industrial, residential water and food services industries. Another dedicated space is for HIS, a global leader in providing patient classification systems that code and group patient data for decision support, quality measurement, reimbursement and performance management. By joining the two businesses into one workplace, the 3M site in Meriden will now be the base for a diverse, talented and technically oriented workforce.
