Connex Credit Union recently awarded a scholarship to O.H. Platt High School student Vincenza DiDomenico, a college-bound senior currently residing in Meriden. DiDomenico submitted an application along with transcripts and an essay addressing the topic: “What can Connex do to educate high school and college students to help them achieve financial success.” She was selected out of more than fifty applicants. For her efforts, DiDomenico received the Arthur B. Haesche Memorial Scholarship for $2,000. Vincenza will be attending Fairfield University in the fall and will major in Finance. While at O.H. Platt High School, she played varsity tennis, volleyball, cross-country and was a member of the high school band. In addition to her extracurricular activities, DiDomenico is ranked in the top ten of her class, is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the High Honor Roll every term. “Connex has a long and proud history of rewarding college-bound students with scholarships,” said Frank Mancini, president and CEO of Connex Credit Union. “The younger generation is the future of our credit union and we are pleased to help them achieve their scholastic goals as they continue their education. On behalf of everyone at Connex, we wish Vincenza success during her collegiate years.” Connex Credit Union established this scholarship in honor of Arthur B. Haesche, one of the founding fathers of the credit union, to award a student pursuing a degree in business.
