Contributions from visitors at Connex Credit Union’s Meriden Branch during the first quarter of 2016 have helped make a significant impact for one local community group. As a part of its philanthropic program ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union recently donated nearly $500, from the fees collected by Connex’s coin-cashing machine at their Meriden branch, to Master’s Manna. The Coins-for-Change program charges a five percent fee to members, a seven percent fee to non-members and donates the fees collected to charitable organizations in the local community, contributing more than $10,000 annually.
“I would like to share my extreme pleasure in this joint endeavor and express my gratitude for this donation,” said Cheryl Trzcinski, chief executive officer, Master’s Manna. “We had the joy of introducing our friends to Connex Credit Union and using our spare change to create change. This investment into our community will impact and improve the lives of thousands of individuals immediately.”
