Convicted Felon Charged In Shooting In Meriden: Police
The victim was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his neck, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A convicted felon has been arrested in connection with a recent shooting in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to the area of Randolph Avenue and West Main Street on Oct. 15 on the report of shots fired.
Officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to his neck, according to police. Patrol officers started to provide basic medical care until EMS arrived, and the victim was taken to Hartford Hospital due to injuries, police said.

Investigators learned that the victim and another man were on the porch of a home when they were shot at, however, police said the victim was not the intended target of the shooting.
An arrest warrant was obtained for James Shea following a thorough investigation, according to police.

Police said Shea was taken into custody on Oct. 31 without incident on Chestnut Street in New Britain with the assistance of the New Britain Police Department.
Shea, a Meriden resident, is a convicted felon who is not allowed to possess firearms legally, according to police.
Shea was charged with first-degree assault, criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
He was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
