Crash Knocks Out Power For Meriden Residents
A wreck Tuesday night led to a power outage for more than 5,000 Meriden residents.

MERIDEN, CT — More than 5,000 Meriden residents lost power when a car struck two utility poles on Paddock Avenue, The Meriden Record-Journal reported.
Police responded at 11:25 p.m. for a report of a single-vehicle wreck. The driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Power was restored to most of the homes overnight. The remaining 571 customers were expected to have power restored by Wednesday evening, according to The Meriden Record-Journal.
