CT Senate Candidate Endorsed by CT Right to Life

Connecticut Right to Life's political arm announced its support for Len Suzio in the 13th Senatorial District.

From Connecticut Right to Life:

Connecticut Right to Life's political arm (CRLC PAC) announced its support for Len Suzio in the 13th Senatorial District. The race has been decided by less than 300 votes twice in recent elections.

“Len is one of those rare leaders who practices his values consistently in both his personal and public life,” says the group's spokesman, Christopher O'Brien. “Len and wife Kate, have shared their home with pregnant women in need for many years and continue to support the hundreds of poor pregnant women during pregnancy and for years afterwards. As a longtime member of Meriden's Board of Education he has demonstrated his dedication to children and local families. ” There are three pregnancy resource centers in the 13th District which Suzio actively supports.

“Voters in the 13th District need a State Senator who will keep children safe by combating the growing sex and human trafficking trade. Connecticut is one of only six states in the country where predators can force a child to have an abortion without their parent's knowledge. Len supports this measure to protect our children, as well as more stringent inspection requirements of clinics in our state.

Dante Bartolomeo and her abortion profiteers NARAL and Planned Parenthood have opposed parental notification laws, putting children at risk. The groups also oppose measures to have abortion clinics to be inspected with the same frequency as other surgical centers. Those clinics are inspected every 4 years while they meet the statutory definition of outpatient surgical centers which require inspection every two years.

The Connecticut pro-life organization spokesman says that his family has known the Suzios for almost 30 years.

“With this record, who is the real pro-woman candidate? Its clearly Len Suzio.” says O'Brien.

O'Brien stressed that his organization's legislative efforts are geared towards building healthy family relationships. “We are actively working to to enact common-sense legislation to ensure the health and safety of women, support abortion alternatives in Connecticut, and restrict the use of taxpayer dollars for abortions here.” He says the group's agenda reflects the political climate in Connecticut while they continue to educate voters and legislators on how to protect the life of every human being from conception until natural death.

CT Right to Life PAC considers a candidate's views on the following issues in granting its endorsements:

  • Parental notification in a minor child's abortion. (this is supported by 78% of voters nationally, including 65% of those who self identify as pro-choice). Connecticut is only one of six states where parental consent is required to give an aspirin at school, or undergo any other medical procedure except abortion. It is also imperative to prevent sex and human trafficking.
  • Clinic inspections that are as frequent as similarly licensed surgical centers. In Connecticut, surgical abortion centers meet the statutory definition of an outpatient surgical center, but are only inspected half as often (4 years instead of 2) (78% agree)
  • Opposing taxpayer funds to be used for abortions (62% agreement)
  • Support measures to prevent coerced abortions and reduce domestic violence
  • Support pregnancy resource centers to operate under their religious and faith beliefs
  • Oppose Assisted Suicide
