A Decade after Its Discovery, a Lost CT Wedding Band Is Returned

The ring was lost on the trails of Meriden's Castle Craig.

MERIDEN, CT — One day about a decade ago, Middletown resident Angela Chionchio was out walking the trails at Meriden's Castle Craig, and she happened upon a ring on the ground. But not just any ring, it was a man's wedding band.

Inside the ring was the inscription: "Lou with all my love, Pat. 9/10/1957." Not knowing who the ring belonged to, Chionchio posted about it on Facebook page, asking her friends to spread the word to help find the owner.

Ten years is a long time, but on Sunday, she finally learned who the ring belonged to and returned it to his son, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

The ring belonged to the late Lou Dispersio, who passed away in February of this year, and on Sunday she was able to return it to Doug Dispersio.

At first, she considered placing a classified advertisement to find the owner (remember this was in early 2000's), but she moved a few times and misplaced the ring.

She was finally able to post about it Facebook and her friends quickly spread the word, which eventually led to the Record-Journal writing about it and a friend of Doug's sent him the article.

And after more than 10 years, two people have some closure on the mystery.
