Developer Plans Apartments For Former Meriden Factory
Eighty apartments are planned for the former Aeolian Co. factory on Tremont Street, according to a report.
MERIDEN, CT — A developer plans to turn the former Aeolian Co. factory into 80 apartments via the city's adaptive reuse program, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. The developer is scheduled to appear before the city's Planning Commission on Wednesday.
The 85 Tremont St. building housed the Aeolian Co., a major producer of organs and music rolls, until 1930. Since then it has been home to a range of other businesses but is now nearly vacant except for a small number of commercial tenants.
