MERIDEN, CT — A 38-year-old Meriden man was arrested Sunday on charges of driving under the influence and multiple counts of risk of injury to a minor for allegedly driving drunk with six children in his vehicle, according to police.
The incident occurred at about 8:15 p.m. near the Nelcon Service Center on Old Colony Road in Meriden, reports the Meriden Record-Journal. Omar Solis first blocked officers with his vehicle as they were trying to leave another call, and when they alerted him to move he began pulling away with an open car door.
After pulling him over, police said Solis fail roadside sobriety tests and had six children, all under the age of 16, in the vehicle with him. His blood alcohol content was nearly three-times the legal limit, according to police.
