Equipment Stolen From Popular New Restaurant In Meriden

MERIDEN, CT — The community is rallying around a popular new restaurant in Meriden after a key piece of equipment was stolen over the weekend.
The owners of Two Broke Chix reported in a post on Facebook on Saturday that their smoker had been stolen. The owners noted in the comments that the smoker had been double-chained with locks when it was stolen.
Two Broke Chix opened about three months ago, representing a dream come true for owners Shameka Williams and Melanie Mathers, according to FOX 61.

After seeing the news, a Fairfield resident reached out to the city to see if there’s a way that he could help the owners replace the smoker, according to a post on the City of Meriden’s Facebook page.
The restaurant, which specializes in soul food, is located at 680 Old Colony Rd. in Meriden.
