Thursday, March 8 at 7:00 pm
Phone: (203) 639-2856
Steve Lazarus, an architect from Wallingford, has hiked almost the entire 2181 miles of the Appalachian Trail during the past six years. He will describe the challenges of an early winter hike in Maine which he undertook in November of 2011.
He will describe the equipment needed for this journey and then present a PowerPoint slideshow of the hike, including the remarkable scenery as he walked from Mt. Katahdin to Caratunk (population 100). The Hundred-Mile Wilderness is considered the most challenging part of the entire Appalachian Trail. Admission free (donations accepted).
