Firefighters Injured in Meriden Fire

The first floor of a building was gutted by flames.

The fire broke out around 1:30 a.m., according to the Record-Journal. The property owner tried to fight the fire with buckets of water and an outdoor hose before calling 911.

Three firefighters were burned when the fire swung around behind them as they went down the first floor hallway. The first floor of the building at 504 E. Main St. was gutted.
