Five Guys Burgers and Fries Coming to Meriden

The popular burger joint will move into a former Panera Bread location.

MERIDEN, CT - A plan for a new Five Guys Burgers and Fries restaurant opening in Meriden took a step forward Tuesday when the Zoning Board of Appeals approved a special exception to allow for plan to proceed.

The new burger joint is slated to go into a South Broad Street location that formerly housed a Panera Bread, and the special exception was necessary to open a new fast food spot inside a former one, reports the Meriden Record-Journal.

Five Guys currently has 22 restaurants in Connecticut, and more than 1,000 in the United States and Canada, writes the R-J. Plans call for opening more than 1,500 more locations in the future.
