Former Meriden YMCA Employee Faces Embezzlement Charges: Report

A former YMCA child care facility employee is accused of taking $17,000 from parents' payments, according to a report.

MERIDEN, CT — The former director of a Meriden YMCA child care facility is being charged with embezzling over $17,000 from parents' payments, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. Courtney Kummer, 46, was charged with second-degree larceny.

Police began investigating a report of embezzlement from the Meriden YMCA in February 2020. Kummer, who was the child care director at the Lil Rascal's program at 43 Swain Avenue, is accused of depositing several checks from parents into her personal bank account.

She was released on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court March 28.
