Fox In A Box Shows Up At Meriden Police Department

A fox was brought, in a box, to the police department on Thursday.

MERIDEN, CT — A fox was brought to the Meriden Police Department in a box on Thursday and police are reminding residents that if you come across a cute critter that looks like it needs rescuing to let the professionals handle it.

“This sly little fella was brought into our department today. Yes, it was in a box,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “Luckily we have some well-informed officers who knew enough to transfer our friend to the care of a wildlife rehabilitation specialist who is licensed to care for rabies vector species (RVS).

“CAUTION: If you ever come across a cute little critter, and you think it needs rescuing, please DO NOT TOUCH OR TAKE. Alert your local authorities.”
