Iconic Willow Tree Damaged At Hubbard Park In Meriden
The tree was removed from the park after being damaged, according to officials.
MERIDEN, CT — An iconic willow tree was removed at Hubbard Park in Meriden after being damaged in this past weekend’s storm, according to officials.
Strong winds from the nor'easter damaged “Hubbard Park’s iconic Willow tree, located near the duck house at Mirror Lake,” according to a post on the Meriden Parks & Recreation Department’s Facebook page.
“A crew from the Meriden Parks Department worked to safely remove the damaged Willow tree and replant a new tree in its place,” the post reads. “While we’re sad to see such a familiar part of Hubbard Park go, we’re excited to watch the new tree grow and become part of the landscape for years to come.”
