Life/Figure Drawing Course at Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden

The human figure is one of the most enduring themes in the visual arts and the human form is arguably one of the most challenging subjects an artist encounters. Immersing oneself in figure drawing is a joyful way to improve one’s drawing skills and is also a contemplative spiritual practice. Also known as life drawing, when artists work from observation of a live model, the practice teaches a great aim of fine art – to express Life in one’s work. Open to adult artists of all skill levels, the course will be taught in classical studio tradition and will include gesture, contour, representational, and abstract studies of the human form.

Where: Unitarian Universalist Church in Meriden, 328 Paddock Avenue, Meriden, CT 06450

Duration: 10 Sessions – Tuesday Evenings, 6 – 8 PM
November 3, 10, 17 (2015)
December 1, 8, 15 (2015)
January 5, 12, 19, 26 (2016)

Cost: $300 (includes model fees) paid in full in advance by October 23, 2015.

Non-Nude:
Models will wear minimal, form-fitting attire which will still allow for study of the human form.

*Open to all skill levels. A minimum of 10 participants is however needed to cover costs. If 10 participants have not registered by 10/23/15, the course will unfortunately be cancelled and payments will promptly be returned in full.
