Linda Bennett, Formerly of Meriden, Passed Away March 23

Linda (Kazmier) Bennett, 67, died peacefully at home on Monday March 23, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 7, 1948, in Southington, the daughter of the late Walter Kazmier and Ruth (Andrew) Kazmier of Meriden.

Raised in Meriden, Linda attended UCONN and began teaching in 1970. She taught elementary school for 40 years in East Lyme before retiring in 2012.

Besides her mother, Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, John Bennett; her two daughters, Laura Bennett of Milford and Sara Leisten of Glastonbury; and her brother, David Kazmier of The Villages, FL.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, March 28th from 3-5pm at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand Street, Niantic and a celebration of her life will be held at 5 PM.
