MERIDEN, CT — After 26 years serving in the General Assembly, State Rep. Emil "Buddy" Altobello said he won't be seeking reelection, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. Altobello, 70, began his public service career when he was 37 and decided to run for the Meriden City Council.

He told the Record-Journal that he'd like to take it easy in retirement. He's been part of the General Assembly's majority leadership since 2000 and serves on the State Bond Commission and Finance Committee.
