Update: Meriden's Forecast Worsens

The latest hyperlocal forecast for Meriden.

Update: The City of Meriden will have a Parking Ban in place beginning at 6:00 a.m., on Saturday, per police.

The storm coming Meriden’s way will bring inches of snow and freezing rain to town on Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

Snow will begin to fall early Saturday, mainly after 3 a.m. About one to three inches of accumulation will occur in the early morning hours.

Precipitation will change to snow and freezing rain before 11 a.m. and then rain and snow between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

After 5 p.m. it will change to rain with the possibility of snow and freezing rain. About .1 to .2 inches of ice accumulation is possible along with three to five inches of snow.

The storm will taper off at night with little or no ice accumulation and less than a half an inch of new snow accumulation expected.

  • Tonight Snow, mainly after 3am. The snow could be heavy at times. Steady temperature around 30. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday Snow and freezing rain before 1pm, then freezing rain and sleet between 1pm and 5pm, then freezing rain and sleet, possibly mixed with snow after 5pm. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 33. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Light northeast wind becoming north 8 to 13 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.2 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
  • Saturday Night Snow likely, mainly before 7pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind 10 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
  • Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 35. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph.
