Man, 19, Arrested On Gun Charges After Crash: Meriden Police

Police said the 19-year-old was in the possession of a "ghost gun" loaded with 17 rounds in the magazine, and one in the chamber.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested on gun charges after police said he left the scene of a crash Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded around 3:50 p.m. to reports of an evading car crash with property damage on Woodland Street, according to police.

While officers were talking with the victim at the scene, police said a nearby vehicle matching the suspect’s description was found.

Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver was identified as Marcus Knox, 19, according to police.

Police said an investigation found that Knox was in the possession of a manufactured “ghost gun” without a serial number, loaded with 17 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber.

Knox was arrested on charges of weapons in a motor vehicle, failure to obtain unique serial number for manufactured firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine, carrying a pistol without a permit, evading responsibility, and unsafe backing. He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
