Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charge: Meriden Police

MERIDEN, CT — A man was arrested Monday on a child pornography charge in connection with an investigation that started this month, according to police.

Police said the Meriden Special Crimes Unit conducted a thorough investigation in collaboration with the New Haven Judicial District Office that found that Anthony Lazzari was in possession of child pornography.

Lazzari was apprehended Aug. 7 in the 900 block of Washington Street in Middletown, according to police.

Lazzari was charged with third-degree possession of child pornography. He was being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond with a court date of Aug. 15, according to state judicial records.

“We at the Meriden Police Department are wholeheartedly committed to protecting children,” police wrote in a news release. “We understand the impact of these crimes and we work with partner agencies to help provide services to the affected victims and their families. It is the policy of the Meriden Police Department to fully investigate every allegation of crimes against children that is brought to our organization.”
