Man Arrested On Threatening, Gun Charges After Fight At Father’s Day Event: Meriden Police
A man was arrested on gun charges after police said he threatened another man who had gotten into a fight and injured his brother.

MERIDEN, CT — A man was arrested on gun charges after police said he threatened another man who had gotten into a fight with his brother at Father’s Day gathering in Meriden.
The event took place Sunday, June 21 in the 100 block of West Main Street and it included both family and friends, according to police.
While at the gathering, police said 37-year-old Miguel Roman got into a fight with another man who was at the party. The men were not related, according to police.

Police said Roman sustained a non-life-threatening injury to his head in the fight.
Miguel Roman left the party and returned approximately 30-40 minutes later with his brother, 32-year-old Michael Roman, and they were looking for man who caused the wound to Miguel Roman’s head, according to police.

Police received a phone call indicating that one of the men may be in possession of a rifle.
Officers responded to the home and found both Miguel and Michael Roman, according to police.
Police said Michael Roman was in possession of a .40 caliber Smith & Wesson handgun as well as an “unidentifiable carbine style rifle” both of which were loaded.
Michael Roman was arrested and charged with first-degree threatening – armed / displayed firearm, second-degree breach of peace, carrying a pistol without a permit, two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, illegal alteration of a firearm, and first-degree reckless endangerment. He was being held in lieu of a $300,000 bond with a court date of July 30, according to state judicial records.
Miguel Roman was charged with interfering with an officer and released after posting a $10,000 bond with a court date of July 8, according to police.
Police said Miguel Roman was later treated for a “minor wound to the head” at an area hospital.
