Man Charged In 2019 Meriden Homicide

A man is facing murder charges in connection to a 2019 killing.

MERIDEN, CT — Police have charged a man in connection with a 2019 homicide. Joseph Stokes, 21, was charged Monday with felony murder, murder, criminal use of a firearm, criminal attempt to commit illegal sale of a firearm, and conspiring to commit illegal sale of a firearm.

Stokes is currently in prison on other pending charges, and the warrant was served at the Meriden Court.

The homicide occurred Jan. 17, 2019, on Foster Street in Meriden. Aaron Ormsby was shot and killed.

"This investigation is the culmination of over two years of work by the Meriden Police Department Detective Division," police said on Facebook. "This case has been a collaborative effort including the State’s Attorney Office in New Haven, other CT police departments as well as agencies in other states."

Stokes' bond was set at $2 million.
