Man Charged In Knifepoint Robbery Of Gas Station In Meriden: Police
The arrest stems from an investigation into a series of nine armed robberies that took place in Meriden, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man has been arrested on new charges in connection with a robbery spree investigation in Meriden last year, according to police.
Between the months of September to November, Meriden police said they investigated a series of nine armed robberies that were believed to have been committed by two people.
Four of the robberies were committed by a suspect who used a knife while targeting two local gas stations, according to police.

Officers responded to 182 Colony Street on Nov. 6 for another armed robbery and located a suspect shortly after fleeing the area, according to police. The suspect was identified as 32-year-old Guardy Roman, who was charged accordingly.
In an update Thursday, police said Roman has been charged in connection with an armed robbery on Oct. 31.

Police said officers responded to the Citgo Gas Station at 182 Colony Street around 7:35 p.m. on Oct. 31 on the report of an armed robbery.
The investigation found that a man armed with a knife, jumped over the counter, removed money from the cash register, and fled the scene, according to police.
Police said officers recovered several pieces of evidence during the investigation that identified Roman as the suspect.

Roman was arrested on a warrant and charged with first-degree robbery and third-degree larceny. Roman, who is currently incarcerated on previous robbery charges, was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond on the new charges.
“The Meriden Police Department wants our community to know that if a dangerous individual comes into our community and commits violent crimes against our residents and business owners, we will use every resource available to identify, arrest, and hold that person fully accountable,” police wrote in a news release. “We will continue to work with our local, state, and federal partners to ensure offenders are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We will not tolerate those who threaten the safety of our community.”
