Man Charged In Shootout That Injured Innocent Bystander: Meriden PD
The man was arrested in connection with a shootout in which several vehicles and an innocent bystander were struck, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man has been arrested in connection with a shootout in a parking lot in Meriden last fall in which several vehicles and an innocent bystander were struck by gunfire, according to police.
Police responded around 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 to the 300 block of West Main Street on the report of shots fired.
Evidence of shots fired was found at the scene, along with an injured bystander who was not involved with the incident, according to police. The bystander suffered injuries that police said weren’t life-threatening.

An investigation found that an argument took place inside the store and led to a gunfight in the parking lot with multiple innocent bystanders in the immediate vicinity, according to police.
Police said numerous occupied vehicles were struck by gunfire.

Makhi Romeo Harris, 24, was identified as one of the suspects, according to police.
Harris was arrested Feb. 10 on a warrant and charged with criminal attempt at first-degree assault, criminal use of weapon, carrying pistol without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment and two counts of risk of injury to child. He was being held in lieu of an $850,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 16, according to state judicial records.
