Man Charged In Stabbing In Meriden: Police

The man faces several charges, including home invasion, in connection with a stabbing that sent the victim to the hospital, police said.

MERIDEN, CT — A man was arrested in connection with a stabbing early Saturday morning in Meriden, according to police.

Police responded around 5 a.m. to a report of a stabbing on Summary Street.

Arriving officers found a victim with non-fatal stab wounds, according to police.

Police said the victim was taken to a nearby hospital.

The patrol division identified the suspect as 36-year-old Chyquaan Adams and took him into custody without incident, according to police. The detective division responded to assist with the investigation.

“Through the investigation, it was determined there was a dispute earlier in the evening between the victim and Adams,” police wrote in a news release. “After the initial altercation, Adams returned to the victim’s RV and entered the RV uninvited. Adams then refused to leave, and a physical altercation began between him and the victim. Adams then stabbed the victim and fled on foot from the RV.”

Adams was arrested on charges of home invasion, first-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon, first-degree criminal trespass, and disorderly conduct. He was held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
