Man Dies After Scooter Crash In Meriden: Police
Police said the man didn't appear to have had any "major trauma" and the investigation is ongoing pending the results of an autopsy.
MERIDEN, CT — A 48-year-old man died after a scooter crash Monday night in Meriden, according to police.
Police received several 911 calls around 7:40 p.m. reporting that a man crashed his scooter in the 400 block of South Colony Street in Meriden, according to Sgt. Michael Boothroyd.
Boothroyd said police found two good Samaritans providing emergency care to an unresponsive man. Meriden Fire and Hunter’s Ambulance arrived and began treating the man at the scene before taking him to MidState Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to Boothroyd.

The investigation found that the man was traveling north on Old Colony Road from Wallingford and turned onto South Colony Street heading north, according to Boothroyd. He was found lying on the front yard of a home with the scooter on its side, according to Boothroyd.

The man’s immediate family members have been notified and his name will be released at a later date to give time for notification of family and friends, according to Boothroyd.
