MERIDEN, CT — A man is accused of displaying a gun during a dispute with another man at a pub in Meriden on Sunday, according to police.

Police said officers responded to Scotty O’Boyles Pub and met with the complainant outside of the pub. The caller reiterated what was witnessed during the dispute and described the man who was in possession of a gun, according to police.

While the officers were speaking to the complainant, police said a man later identified as 48-year-old George Nasiakos left the bar and began walking in the direction of the officers.

The complainant told police that Nasiakos was the man who was in possession of the firearm.

“Officers advised Nasiakos to show them his hands but he refused,” police wrote in a news release. “Nasiakos turned and ran from the officers. Nasiakos ran back into the bar while officers chased after him. Once inside the bar, officers quickly closed distance on Nasiakos as he tried standing behind a table to avoid officers. The officers grabbed Nasiakos’ arm to detain him and that is when a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun fell out of his jacket pocket.”
