Man Fired Shots Into Occupied Home: Meriden Police
Three people were inside the home at the time of the shooting, according to police.
MERIDEN, CT — A man is accused of firing shots into an occupied home last December in Meriden, according to police.
Police responded to a home on Park Avenue around 11:05 p.m. on Dec. 4 on the report of shots fired. Police then received a report of an evading vehicle crash at the intersection of Broad Street and Westfield Road.
The vehicle was left behind in the intersection and the occupants fled the scene, according to police. The investigation found that the two incidents were linked, police said.

Police said a single round was fired into the home on Park Avenue. The round went “through the two front doors into the living area, then traveled into a bedroom and became lodged in the wall,” police wrote in a news release.
Three people were home at the time, but nobody was struck, according to police.

Juan Gomez, 22, was identified as the suspect following a lengthy investigation, police said.
Police said Gomez is believed to have had an issue with one of the people inside the home.
Gomez was arrested May 26 on a warrant at Meriden Superior Court. Police said he is in the custody of the Connecticut Department of Corrections pending several open arrest cases, including a previous weapon charge.
Gomez was charged with conspiracy to commit second-degree assault, conspiracy to commit illegal discharge of firearm, conspiracy to commit first-degree reckless endangerment, first-degree threatening, evading responsibility and misuse of plates. He was being held in lieu of a cumulative bond of $375,400, according to police.
