Man Gave THC Edibles To 12-Year-Old Child: Meriden Police

MERIDEN, CT — A man was arrested this week after police said he gave THC edibles to a 12-year-old child earlier this year in Meriden.
The Special Crimes Unit launched an investigation on July 26 into accusations that Moises Santiago had been regularly providing THC edibles to a 12-year-old child, as well as “speaking to the child in a sexually explicit manner,” police said in a news release.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Santiago after a “thorough investigation,” according to the news release.

Santiago was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with two counts of risk of injury/impairing morals of children and sale, delivery, or giving cannabis to person under 21 by person over 23.
“The Meriden Police Department is wholeheartedly committed to protecting children,” police wrote in the news release. “We understand the impact of these crimes and we work with partner agencies to help provide services to the affected victims and their families. It is the policy of the Meriden Police Department to fully investigate every allegation of crimes against children that is brought to our organization.”
