Man Hospitalized After Shooting Near Bar In Meriden: Police

The suspected shooter had been asked by staff to leave the bar because of his conduct, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A man was hospitalized after being shot early Saturday morning in Meriden, according to police.

Police responded to MidState Medical Center around 1 a.m. on Aug. 20 on the report of a 38-year-old man arriving at the emergency room with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity, according to officials. The wound wasn’t life-threatening, police said.

Information led officers to the 112 Lounge at 278 West Main St., according to police.

“Several unspent bullets were located in the street,” police wrote in a news release. “It is believed this shooting occurred somewhere in this general area of West Main St. The suspected shooter was reportedly a patron of the establishment that was asked to leave by staff because of his conduct.”
