Man Shot In The Leg In Meriden

The shooting occurred Thursday on Sherman Avenue.

MERIDEN, CT — A man was shot in a leg in an incident on Sherman Avenue by Warren Street Thursday, according to police. A shots-fired call came in and police arrived at the scene to find a 25-year-old man who had been shot in the leg.

He was conscious and able to speak to officers.

Police said that the incident began when a vehicle approached the intersection where the victim was walking. The victim then spoke with someone in the car which had a window rolled down.

It's unclear whether the conversation turned into an argument, but an unidentified person in the vehicle fired two shots at the victim, one of which hit him in the leg.

The vehicle fled the scene before police arrived.
