Man Strangled Woman, Threatened Her With Gun: Report

A Meriden man is facing charges in an assault and threatening case.

MERIDEN, CT — A local man is facing charges in an assault and threatening case, according to The Meriden Record-Journal. Louis Hernandez, 46, of 120 Gravel St. Apt. 55, was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful restraint, and disorderly conduct.

The victim in the case told police Hernandez had assaulted and choked her before he got a handgun and threatened to kill her. The woman made a recording of the incident, The Meriden Record-Journal reported.

Hernandez appeared in court Monday and his bond was set at $35,000.
