Medical Marijuana Dispensary Approved For Meriden

MERIDEN, CT - Nine new facilities will have medical marijuana licenses in the next few months, with one of those being in Meriden, according to the Journal-Inquirer. The Consumer Protection Department chose the locations from 73 applicants.

In 2012, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy authorized a bill legalizing the use of marijuana. The new approved applications doubles the total number of dispensaries in the state.

The Meriden facility will be Willow Brook Wellness, which is located at 1371 E. Main St. Two other Meriden locations were also seeking approval from the state but did not receive it, according to the Record-Journal.

Other dispensaries were approved in Groton, Mansfield, Torrington, Stamford, Westport, Windham and New Haven.
