Meetings on Middlesex Community College Closing Meriden Branch
There will be a series of meetings for students and others seeking answers.

Middlesex Community College will be holding information sessions after it was announced that its Meriden campus would be closing.
The campus will be closing at the end of the spring semester, much to the disappointment of students.
“It’s normal to want answers. To try and understand how a decision like this is made, the reasons behind it, and the people involved,” wrote Julie Deneen on MXCC Blog, the official blog of Middlesex Community College.

The college has offered courses in Meriden since 1979. The decision came to in response to the Fiscal Year 2016 proposed budget that calls for $20.5 million less than the current year for the CSCU.
“It was the only way we could accommodate the projected budget gap for our FY2016,” said Anna Wasescha, the President of MxCC. “In this fiscal environment the college cannot sustain an operation that represents a net resource drain.”
